Keep your number when you switch: PAC and STAC codes

You can move to a new mobile provider and keep your number with one free text. These steps follow Ofcom's rules for switching.

Switch and keep your number in 4 steps

  1. Check your contract. Text INFO to 85075 to see whether you're still in contract. If you are, you might have to pay an early termination charge to leave.
  2. Get your PAC code. Text PAC to 65075. Your provider must reply within one minute, and tell you about any early termination charges or pay-as-you-go credit. The code is valid for 30 days.
  3. Give the PAC to your new provider. You can usually do this when you sign up, or sign up first and give it later, before it expires.
  4. Your number moves. Your new provider must complete the switch within one working day.

Don't want to keep your number?

Text STAC to 75075. The switch is then done for you, without notice period charges or paying for your old and new contract at the same time.
