April 2027 price rises: what your bill will do

Since 17 January 2025, new phone and broadband contracts must set out any yearly rise in pounds and pence. Here's what each provider has published for 2027, who it applies to, and what you can do about it. Every row links to its source and was checked on 2 Nov 2026.

Can I leave without a fee?

According to Ofcom, a rise set out in your contract in pounds and pence doesn't on its own let you leave free. If your contract doesn't say how much the price can rise, or the provider raises it by more than the contract says, they must give you at least 30 days' notice and 30 days to leave without exit fees. Contracts signed before 17 January 2025 may still use inflation-linked or percentage rises.

Questions

How much will my O2 bill go up?

O2 says airtime plans rise £2.50 a month for voice plans and 75p for data-only and smartwatch plans from April 2027. The device part of your bill stays the same.

Does the rise apply to my phone payments?

O2 and Vodafone say device plans are not affected. EE adds £4 to handset plans taken from 10 September 2024. For other networks, check your contract summary.

When does EE's rise apply?

On 31 March during your minimum term, or 1 March once your minimum term has ended.

Can I leave because of the price rise?

Not usually, if the rise was set out in pounds and pence in your contract. If your provider raises the price by more than the contract says, or the contract didn't say, Ofcom's rules give you 30 days' notice and 30 days to leave without a fee.

Which networks don't raise prices mid-contract?

See the table of plans we've checked that say they won't rise during the contract.
