Why buy a SIM-free phone and a SIM-only plan?
A phone contract spreads the handset cost across a 24-month plan, which usually includes an annual April price rise. Buying the phone outright (refurbished saves the most) and pairing it with a cheap SIM-only plan is often hundreds of pounds cheaper. Our builder shows the maths for each phone.
Is refurbished safe?
The refurbished retailers we list test every phone, unlock it and give at least a 12-month warranty. Excellent grade looks almost new; Good and Fair show light signs of use but work perfectly.
Do you offer phones on finance or monthly payments?
No. SimSift only compares phones you buy outright. We don't arrange credit, finance or insurance.
Where does the typical contract figure come from?
In this preview it is an illustrative figure. When live, it will be the network's own 24-month price for the same model, including its stated April rises.
Will the phone work on any network?
Yes. Every phone listed is sold SIM-free and unlocked, so it works with any UK SIM, including eSIM where the phone supports it.
