What to check on a business bill

A five-minute checklist: lines you don't use, add-ons, out-of-bundle charges, paid-off handsets and contracts past their end date.

  1. Count the lines. Compare the number of lines or SIMs on the bill with the number your team uses.
  2. Look for add-ons. Insurance, security, static IPs and paper-bill charges add up.
  3. Check out-of-bundle charges. Roaming, premium numbers and data over the allowance.
  4. Check equipment. Handset payments that should have ended, or router rental on kit you own.
  5. Check the dates. Find out whether you're in or out of contract (Ofcom: in or out of contract).

Ofcom also lists charges to look out for: leaving early, paper billing, roaming and not giving enough notice (Ofcom). Use the bill checker to make your list.
