Does my phone support eSIM?

Most phones from the last few years support eSIM: iPhone XS/XR and later, Google Pixel 3 and later, Samsung Galaxy S20 and later, and many recent Motorola, OnePlus and Xiaomi models. Some versions sold in certain countries don't, so check your own phone.

1. iPhone: Settings › General › About. If you see "Digital SIM" or an EID, it supports eSIM.
2. Android: dial *#06#. If an EID number appears, it supports eSIM.
3. Unlocked? A travel eSIM only works if your phone isn't locked to your UK network. Phones bought outright or SIM-free are unlocked; ask your network if you're unsure. Unlocking is free.

Install the eSIM at home on Wi-Fi, but switch it on only when you land.
